Vacant Private Properties Owned by Singaporeans and Foreigners

Mr Baey Yam Keng asked the Minister for National Development (a) what is the current number of private properties owned by Singaporeans and foreigners respectively which have been left vacant for more than a year; and (b) what are the districts where these units are located predominantly.

Mr Khaw Boon Wan: My Ministry does not have the data as requested by the Member. The tax authority also does not track how long a property is vacant, as property tax is levied regardless of whether or not the property is vacant.
