Mr Gerald Giam Yean Song asked the Minister for Health (a) what is the total amount spent to-date on the National Electronic Health Records (NEHR) system; (b) how much more will be needed to complete the project; and (c) what are the annual maintenance costs of the system.

Mr Gan Kim Yong: A total of $172 million has been used for the implementation of NEHR Phase 1 so far. As NEHR is a 10-year programme, the total investment will depend on the needs of the healthcare sector. MOH is currently gathering feedback from the various stakeholders for the next phase. The annual maintenance costs of the system is about $20 million.
