Unemployment Rate among Singapore Citizens

Mr Gerald Giam Yean Song asked the Acting Minister for Manpower what is the unemployment rate among Singapore citizens, broken down by Chinese, Malay, Indian and other races.

Mr Tan Chuan-Jin: The Government provides statistics on the economic status of residents by race every five years, via DOS' publications on Census of Population or General Household Survey. Based on the 2010 population census, the unemployment rates for Chinese, Malay and Indian residents in 2010 were 3.9%, 5.7% and 5.2% respectively.
