30.
Mr Liang Eng Hwa asked the Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports (a) how many foreign workers with work permits and employment passes have entered the casino since its opening and; (b) whether he will consider extending the entry levy of $100 to foreign workers so as to deter them from gambling at the casinos.
Dr Vivian Balakrishnan: We do not currently have information on the number of foreign workers with work permits and employment passes entering the casino since its opening. However, should social problems arise from foreign workers entering casinos, we will consider taking steps to address the issue.
