Priority for BTO 2-room Flats for Singaporeans with Foreign Spouses

Mr Gan Thiam Poh asked the Minister for National Development whether priority can be given to Singaporeans who are married to foreign spouses and are childless to apply for 2-room BTO HDB flats.

Mr Khaw Boon Wan: Madam, when assigning priority, HDB takes into account the housing needs of the buyers and also the prevailing demand and supply situation. The low application rates for families for 2-room BTO flats have allowed us to do more for singles. We are now able to set aside half of the 2-room BTO flat supply in non-mature estates for singles.

Singaporeans with foreign spouses and without child are treated no differently from singles.
