Certificates of Entitlement Issued by Category and Resident Status

Ms Sylvia Lim asked the Minister for Transport in the last three years, how many and what proportion of Certificates of Entitlement for vehicles in each category were issued to Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and non-resident foreigners.

Mr Lui Tuck Yew: The breakdown of vehicles registered to individuals in 2012, 2013 and the first eight months of 2014 are in the table below. The numbers include vehicles registered using Certificates of Entitlement (COEs) from Category (CAT) E, or the Open Category, which can be used to register any vehicle. The numbers exclude vehicles registered to companies.
