Extension of Land Lease of St John's Home in Sennett Estate

Mr Sitoh Yih Pin asked the Minister for Social and Family Development whether the Ministry can consider extending the land lease of St John's Home in Sennett Estate at Potong Pasir beyond the current offer of only three years when the lease expires in December 2015.

Mr Chan Chun Sing: St John’s home is on a 30-year lease expiring on 31 December 2015. We understand the Home would like to continue operating at the same location. The Government is supportive of a 3+3 years tenancy for St John’s Home upon lease expiry. This would provide continuity for the elderly residents.
