Remuneration and Benefits Packages for Academic and Non-academic Staff in Autonomous Universities

Assoc Prof Tan Kheng Boon Eugene asked the Minister for Education whether there are guidelines or rules that the Autonomous Universities have to abide by for remuneration and other benefits packages for academic and non-academic staff in management/leadership positions.

Mr Heng Swee Keat: The Autonomous Universities have established their own frameworks and guidelines relating to remuneration and benefits for all categories of staff, including those in leadership positions. These frameworks and guidelines are endorsed by the Universities' respective Boards of Trustees and take into account market conditions to enable them to recruit and retain the right people.
