Mr Yee Jenn Jong asked the Minister for National Development if he can provide a breakdown of the use of the Construction Productivity and Capability Fund (CPCF) since its inception in June 2010, by the type of fund and by the type of companies measured by company size.
Mr Khaw Boon Wan: The $250 million Construction Productivity and Capability Fund supports companies in the built environment industry in (a) manpower and capability development, and (b) technology adoption, with a view to raise their productivity. Since its inception, about $20 million and $65 million have been committed under (a) and (b) respectively. About 2,200 firms will benefit from these disbursements. More than 80% of the firms are regarded as small firms under the BCA's classification system.
