Mr Seah Kian Peng asked the Minister for National Development whether the Enhancement for Active Seniors (EASE) scheme can be extended to cover disabled Singaporeans so that they can also benefit from disability-friendly HDB flat fittings.
Mr Khaw Boon Wan: Since July this year, all Singaporeans, including the disabled, whose flats are selected for the Home Improvement Programme (HIP) can select additional optional improvement items under the Enhancement for Active Seniors (EASE) programme.

To allow senior residents to enjoy the EASE programme earlier, HDB has commenced direct application for EASE in two pilot towns − Kallang/Whampoa and Bukit Merah. Besides this, disabled Singaporeans who need the EASE improvements can also apply directly for EASE at any HDB Branch. HDB will consider their requests favourably.
