CIVIL LIST:

(Motion):

The Second Minister for Finance (Mrs Lim Hwee Hua): Mr Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to move,

That this Parliament, pursuant to section 7 of the Civil List and Pension Act (Chapter 44), resolves that the Schedule to that Act be varied by deleting the figures "$3,137,700", "$69,000", "$3,823,400", "$2,015,300" and "$598,400" in the second column and substituting for them the figures "$3,376,800", "$73,000", "$4,060,800", "$2,093,600" and "$746,900" respectively.

Sir, for Class I and Class II expenditures, I propose an increase of $243,100 to $3,453,400, and an increase of $237,400 to $4,060,800 respectively from the approved FY 2009 expenditures to reflect provisions relating to a better GDP outlook and salary adjustments.

For Class III expenditure, I propose an increase of $78,300 to $2,093,600,

Column: 2550

mainly due to higher rental fees and additional logistical arrangements for the National Day Investiture.

For Class IV expenditure, I propose an increase of $148,500 to $746,900 to cater for a necessary upgrade of information technology systems.

It is therefore necessary to vary the provisions in the Schedule to the Civil List and Pension Act (Chapter 44), as indicated in the motion before the House.

Sir, I beg to move.

Question put, and agreed to.

Resolved,

That this Parliament, pursuant to section 7 of the Civil List and Pension Act (Chapter 44), resolves that the Schedule to that Act be varied by deleting the figures "$3,137,700", "$69,000", "$3,823,400", "$2,015,300" and "$598,400" in the second column and substituting for them the figures "$3,376,800", "$73,000", "$4,060,800", "$2,093,600" and "$746,900" respectively.
