Mr Victor Lye asked the Minister for National Development (a) whether the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) tracks (i) contractual payment periods and (ii) actual payment times from main contractors to subcontractors on public sector construction projects; and (b) if so, what are the median payment times and proportions of payments made within (i) 30 (ii) 60 and (iii) 90 days, respectively, over the past three years; and (c) if not, whether BCA will consider doing so.

Mr Chee Hong Tat: The Building and Construction Authority does not track contractual or actual payment timelines from main contractors to subcontractors, as these are private contractual arrangements between the parties.
