Mr Shawn Loh asked the Minister for National Development in view of the findings in 2024 that Boon Keng disproportionately suffers from urban heat, whether the HDB could consider building a park that could act as a green lung on the vacant plot of land bounded by Towner Road, McNair Road and Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital, which is currently zoned for public housing.
Mr Chee Hong Tat: The site is zoned largely for residential use in the Master Plan 2025. Agencies are reviewing the plans for the site and will consider the Member's suggestion to introduce a park.
