The Chief Minister: Sir, we never had in mind to rush His Excellency, but rather to clarify the position. Sir, I would, in the circumstances, seek an adjournment now, and I am sure you, Mr Speaker, Sir, will not shut me out tomorrow if I seek to initiate a further debate on the original motion until we have had time to consider the motion to be introduced whether it comes within the terms of the motion already before you. In the circumstances, Mr Speaker, I move,
That this House do stand adjourned till tomorrow at 10 a.m.
Mr Francis Thomas: I second the motion.
Question put, and agreed to.
Resolved,
That this House do stand adjourned till tomorrow at 10 a.m.
Adjourned accordingly at 3.57 p.m. to the 26th of July, 1955.
