The Deputy Prime Minister (Dr Toh Chin Chye): Mr Speaker, Sir, under Standing Order 32, I beg to seek the assent of the House to move a motion,

That at its rising today, the Assembly do stand adjourned to tomorrow, 13th February.

Mr Speaker: The relevant Standing Order is, as pointed out by the Leader of the House, that:

"Notice shall not be dispensed with in the case of a motion or in respect of any other proceeding for which notice is required except with the consent of the Speaker and the general assent of Members present."

The motion proposed to be moved by the Leader of the House requires notice. I give my consent, although my Saturday afternoon might be spoilt! Is it the pleasure of honourable Members that the motion be moved?

Hon. Members: Aye.

Dr Toh Chin Chye: Mr Speaker, Sir, I beg to move,

That at its rising today, the Assembly do stand adjourned to tomorrow, 13th February.

Sir, I would like to add these words. The Leader of the Opposition has indicated to me that he will be absent on

Monday [15th February], and because it is necessary to accommodate the Opposition as well, I have so moved.

Question put, and agreed to.

Resolved,

That at its rising today, this Assembly do stand adjourned to tomorrow, Saturday, 13th February.
