HOME ACCIDENTS

Mr J. F. Conceicao asked the Minister for Health if he can supply figures for 1967 to 1969 of (i) the number of cases of accidents in the home from various causes, recorded at Government hospitals and clinics, and how many involved adults; (ii) the number of fatalities resulting therefrom, and how many were of adults; and (iii) the estimated number of unreported cases of accidents in the home.

Mr Chua Sian Chin: Figures on the number of cases of accidents in the home for 1967 are not available as compilation of statistics on home accidents was started only in October 1968, The number of accidents in the home from various cases, recorded at Government hospitals for items (i) and (ii) are given in the attached* Appendices A and B.
