Mr P. Selvadurai asked the Minister for Law and National Development if the time is now not ripe for the salaries of the Judges of the Supreme Court to be revised upwards to keep them in line with the salaries of Judges of the Supreme Court of Malaysia.

Mr Barker: Mr Speaker, Sir, the salaries of Judges as well as members of the legal service are related to the salary scales of the professional and administrative grades in the civil service. The salaries of the Judges in the Supreme Court will be revised in the overall revision of salary structures in the civil service, which is now under close examination by the Ministry of Finance.
