Dr Tan Eng Liang: Mr Speaker, Sir, may I say a few words?

Mr Speaker: Mr Barker?

Mr Barker: I have no objection, Sir.

Dr Tan Eng Liang: Sir, the efforts of certain Ministries in respect of the Addendum have trickled in over the last few days, and some Ministries have yet to submit their efforts. As a new Member of Parliament, I would like to have more time to study all these addenda. May I, therefore, move that Parliament adjourn for one week.

Dr Ong Leong Boon: Mr Speaker, Sir, I rise to second the motion.

Mr Speaker: May I suggest that hon. Members have a look at the Standing Orders first?

Mr Barker: Mr Speaker, Sir, I was about to move, "That Parliament do adjourn to tomorrow." But I believe the sentiments expressed by the two new Members are shared by the others. Therefore, I have great pleasure in moving,

That Parliament do now adjourn to Tuesday, 24th October, 1972.

Question put, and agreed to.

Resolved,

"That Parliament do now adjourn to Tuesday, 24th October, 1972." - [Mr E. W. Barker].

Adjourned accordingly at Twenty-eight minutes past Four o'clock p.m. to Tuesday, 24th October, 1972. Annex to Statement on New Electrical Tariffs (Cols. 91-102) (Cols 0131-0142)
