FACTORIES BILL (As reported from Select Committee)

The Minister of State for Labour (Mr Sia Kah Hui): Mr Speaker, Sir, I beg to move, "That the Bill be now read a Third time."

Hon. Members will recall that the Bill was committed to a Select Committee on 3rd November last year. The Select Committee received two written representations. Except for a few minor amendments, the Bill in its present form is very much the same as it was originally before the House.

Sir, I beg to move.

Mr Speaker: The year "1972" appearing in the citation of the Bill in clause 1, and also in the First and Second Schedules, requires to be altered to "1973". In each case, the alterations are listed in the Order Paper Supplement * and they will be made.

• The alterations listed in the Order Paper Supplement read as follows: Clause 1: In page 1, line 5, to leave out "1972" and insert "1973'. First Schedule: (1) In page 72, line 3, to leave out "1972" and insert "1973". (2) In page 73, line 2, to leave out "1972" and insert "1973". Second Schedule: (1) In page 74, line 12, to leave out "1972" and insert "1973". (2) In page 74, line 17, to leave out "1972" and insert "1973". (3) In page 75, line 2, to leave out "1972" and insert "1973". (4) In page 75, line 8, to leave out "1972" and insert "1973".
