Mr Ng Kah Ting asked the Minister for National Development and Communications whether he is aware of numerous requests for an actuated signal system to be installed at the junction of Lim Ah Pin Road and Upper Serangoon Road as a result of several accidents that had occurred in the area in the past few years, and if he will consider having such a system installed as soon as is practicable so as to provide better safety to all road users in the area.

Dr Tan Eng Liang (for the Minister for National Development and Communications): Mr Speaker, Sir, the traffic pattern at the junction mentioned was restudied a few weeks ago, and I am glad to inform the Member for Punggol that installation of a vehicle actuated signal system at this junction is included in the 1976/77 traffic signal programme
