Mr Ahmad Haleem asked the Minister for National Development and Communications when the residents of kampong houses at Seah Im Road, Marang Road and on the slopes of Mount Faber will be resettled.

Mr Ong Teng Cheong (for the Minister for National Development and Communications): Mr Speaker, Sir, the land bounded by Seah Im Road/Telok Blangah Road/Marang Road is owned and managed by the Port of Singapore Authority (PSA).

The Authority has drawn up plans for the development of this area. These plans are, however, being reviewed. Until such time as the revised plans are to be implemented, action to resettle the squatters is being withheld.
