PARKING FACILITIES IN RADIN MAS (Measures to increase)

Mr M.K.A. Jabbar asked the Minister for National Development whether the Housing and Development Board has any plans to increase car parking facilities in HDB estates like Radin Mas as the residents in these estates are facing acute parking problems.

Mr Lee Yock Suan (for the Minister for National Development): Mr Speaker, Sir, the HDB is aware of the shortage of car parking lots in Radin Mas Constituency which covers Telok Blangah Neighbourhoods I and 11. Various measures have been taken to ease the parking shortage. For Neighbourhood I the HDB provided an additional 25 kerbside parking lots in April 1982. In Neighbourhood 11, 130 car parking lots and 10 lorry/bus parking lots were introduced along Telok Blangah Rise on 1st December, 1982.
