Mr Yeo Toon Chia asked the Minister for Communications and Information, in view of the current economic recession, whether his Ministry will consider (i) reducing road tax, and (ii) extending Preferential Additional Registration Fee entitlement to Q-plate cars.

Dr Yeo Ning Hong: Mr Speaker, Sir, I have answered the first part of the Member's question in reply to a question asked by the Member for Fengshan yesterday as well as subsequent supplementary questions asked by other Members. I shall proceed to the second part of the question.

Sir, as for PARF for company cars, there is no need to offer it at the moment since company cars already enjoy tax concessions on the depreciation of their cars. There is no need, therefore, to offer additional incentives for these cars.
