Mrs Yu-Foo Yee Shoon asked the Minister for National Development for the year 1985, (a) what was the percentage of shopkeepers who gave up their shop premises; and (b) how many shopkeepers applied to re-tender for shop premises after having occupied a shop for less than a year.

The Minister for National Development (Mr Teh Cheang Wan): Mr Speaker, Sir, for the year 1985, the percentage of shopkeepers who gave up their shop premises was 3.69%. The number of shopkeepers who applied to re-tender for shop premises after having occupied the premises for less than a year was seven.
