Mrs Yu-Foo Yee Shoon asked the Acting Minister for Health whether it is possible for a non-Singaporean kidney patient to benefit from our organ donation programme.

Mr Yeo Cheow Tong: As donor kidneys will continue to be in short supply even after the new legislation is brought into operation, the cadaveric kidney transplant programme will be restricted to Singapore citizens and permanent residents only. A non-Singaporean will not be able to benefit from the programme. Table - NO. OF ACCOUNT HOLDERS WHO WITHDREW THEIR CPF SAVINGS BEFORE AGE 55 (Cols. 1417 - 1418)
