Mrs Yu-Foo Yee Shoon asked the Minister for National Development whether there is any plan for building a sports complex in Jurong East.

The Minister of State for National Development (Dr Lee Boon Yang) (for the Minister for National Development): Mr Speaker, Sir, on behalf of my Minister.

The Housing Board will be building a sports complex at Jurong East. The complex will be at the junction of Boon Lay Way and Jurong Town Hall Road, next to the Chinese Garden.

This sports complex will have an outdoor stadium, an indoor stadium and swimming pools.

Building contracts for the complex will be tendered out by the end of this year. The complex is expected to be completed by the end of 1990.
