Encik Abbas Abu Amin asked the Minister for Home Affairs whether he will expedite setting up a Neighbourhood Police Post along Pasir Panjang Road.

The Minister of State for Home Affairs (Dr Lee Boon Yang) (for the Minister for Home Affairs): Mr Speaker, Sir, there will be two Neighbourhood Police Posts for Pasir Panjang Constituency. One of the Neighbourhood Police Posts has already been set up at Block 3 Dover Road. The second NPP is scheduled for 1989.

The original proposal site for the second NPP along Pasir Panjang Road, near the Haw Par Villa, is now affected by a PWD road scheme. If an alternative site cannot be finalized in time for the second NPP to be built according to schedule, the Police will consider setting up a temporary NPP along Pasir Panjang Road.
