SIMEI ROAD/SIMEI STREET 1 (Road divider and traffic light)

Mr Teo Chong Tee asked the Minister for National Development whether the Public Works Department will construct a road divider along Simei Road and install a traffic light at the junction of Simei Road and Simei Street 1.

The Senior Minister of State for National Development (Dr Lee Boon Yang) (for the Minister for National Development): Mr Speaker, Sir, the Public Works Department will build the road divider and signalize the junction of Simei Road/Simei Street 1 by July 1989.

Mr Teo Chong Tee (Changi): Mr Speaker, Sir, may I ask the Senior Minister of State whether in building the road divider and installing the signalized traffic lights provision can be made for a U-turn at the junction of the traffic light.

Dr Lee Boon Yang: I will ask the Public Works Department to look into this request.
