REMUNERATION OF DEPUTY SPEAKER

The Leader of the House (Mr Wong Kan Seng): Mr Speaker, Sir, it is also my pleasure to move,
That, pursuant to Article 42 of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore, with effect from 1st January 1994, the Deputy Speaker shall be paid an allowance of $2,147 inclusive of a Non-Pensionable Component of $347 per month and all such pensionable and non-pensionable allowances as would be payable to office-holding Members of Parliament.
Sir, this is also consistent with the recent revision of salaries.

Resolved,
