Mr Teo Chong Tee asked the Minister for Home Affairs whether another Neighbourhood Police Post will be set up in Changi constituency.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Home Affairs (Assoc. Prof. Ho Peng Kee) (for the Minister for Home Affairs): Mr Speaker, Sir, the Neighbourhood Police Post (NPP) system was introduced more than 10 years ago in 1983. Since then, there have been significant shifts in the population due to the setting up of new towns. As a result, some of the existing NPPs are no longer strategically located.

Police is currently reviewing the NPP system, taking into account these shifts in population. The request by Mr Teo will be considered in the review.
