Mr Teo Chong Tee asked the Minister for Communications whether a pedestrian underpass along the Pan-Island Expressway, between Simei Park and Tampines Street 22 near Block 288, will be constructed to replace the present pedestrian overhead bridge.
The Minister for Communications (Mr Mah Bow Tan): Mr Speaker, Sir, the concrete pedestrian overhead bridge across the Pan-Island Expressway between Simei Park and Tampines Street 22 near Block 288, was constructed by the HDB in 1989. It is relatively new and provides a safe pedestrian crossing for people in the area. There are no plans to replace it with an underpass.
