The Leader of the House (Mr Wong Kan Seng): Mr Speaker, Sir, I seek your consent and the general assent of Members present to move a business motion.

Mr Speaker: I give my consent. Is it the pleasure of hon. Members that the motion be moved?

Resolved,

That, notwithstanding the Standing Orders, the proceedings on the business set down on the Order Paper be exempted at this day's sitting from the provisions of Standing Order No. 1 and that the Ministerial Statement by the Minister for Finance be made at 5.00 pm today. [Mr Wong Kan Seng].
