Mr Yeo Guat Kwang asked the Minister for Health if his Ministry has plans to build a new polyclinic to serve the residents of Sengkang and Punggol New Towns.

Mr Lim Hng Kiang: The Ministry of Health plans to build a polyclinic to serve Sengkang and Punggol residents. The polyclinic should be ready by 2004. In the meantime, we have extended the Primary Care Partnership Scheme to Sengkang so that needy elderly residents have the added convenience of receiving subsidised care at private General Practitioner (GP) clinics near their homes instead of travelling to a polyclinic.
