The Deputy Leader of the House (Mr Mah Bow Tan): Mr Speaker, Sir, I beg to move,
That Parliament do sit on Saturday, 18th May 2002.
Sir, Members have made a total of 518 cuts this year. I believe this is one of the highest in the last few years, and in order to allow more time for Members to make their cuts and for Ministers to give a proper response, I am moving this motion to enable Parliament to sit on Saturday.
Resolved,
That Parliament do sit on Saturday, 18th May 2002. - [Mr Mah Bow Tan].
