HDB Flats Surrendered, Sold by Banks and in Mortgage Arrears

Mr Chen Show Mao asked the Minister for National Development for each year from 2008 to 2012 (a) how many HDB lessees aged 55 years and above (i) surrendered their flats to HDB as a result of default on HDB loan repayments (ii) lost their flats in mortgagee sales by banks and (iii) at year end, were in mortgage arrears of three months or more; and (b) what were the respective numbers of HDB lessees for (i), (ii) and (iii) irrespective of age.
