Sheltered Links between HDB Estates and MRT Stations

Mr Lim Biow Chuan asked the Minister for Transport whether the Ministry will consider building sheltered linkways between HDB estates and MRT stations and, in particular, from Tanjong Rhu estate to Mountbatten MRT station.

Mr Lui Tuck Yew: Under the Walk2Ride programme, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) will significantly expand the coverage of our sheltered linkway networks over the next five years to connect schools, healthcare facilities, public amenities, offices and residential developments within a 400-metre radius of all MRT stations.

Under the programme, Tanjong Rhu estate will be connected by sheltered linkways to Mountbatten MRT station along Mountbatten Road.
