Mr Chan Chun Sing: The number of monthly active cases per FSC social worker was 49 in 2007 and 43 in 2011, while the average number of monthly new cases per social worker was four in 2007 and three in 2011.
The casework and counselling sessions conducted by each social worker per month will vary depending on the nature and complexity of the cases. Each FSC supervisor oversees about three to four social workers.
As announced during the FSC Seminar on 9 February 2012, MCYS will provide FSCs with more resources to further reduce the caseload of FSC social workers by 20%, to enable them to invest more time in helping vulnerable families with more complex needs.
