Mr Shawn Loh asked the Acting Minister for Manpower in light of recent labour market reports that indicate an increase in number of retrenchments and an increase in the long-term unemployment rate (a) how have the age and qualifications profile of these groups changed over the past five years; and (b) what are the considerations behind lower employment support for those under the age of 40.
