Mr Mak Pak Shee asked the Minister for Local Government, Lands and Housing whether he is aware that the Chairman of the Singapore Improvement Trust has issued instructions that no English-speaking person in the future will be employed in the Labour Force of the Singapore Improvement Trust; whether he will state the reasons for this apparent discrimination; and what steps he proposes to take in this matter.

Inche Abdul Hamid Bin Haji Jumat: Mr Speaker, Sir, my information is that the Chairman of the Singapore Improvement Trust has issued no such instructions.
