Mr R. Jumabhoy asked the Financial Secretary under what authority was the sum of $4,270.20 paid out of the public funds of the Colony to meet the cost of the farewell party given by the Chief Minister to the former Governor, Sir John Nicoll.

Mr T. M. Hart: This expenditure was met on my authority from financial provision voted for official entertainment.

Mr R. Jumabhoy: Does the Hon. the Financial Secretary consider this amount a fair amount for a satay party?

Mr Speaker: Order, please. That is a matter of opinion.
