COMMERCIAL TELEVISION IN SINGAPORE (Establishment) (Statement by the Chief Secretary)

The Chief Secretary (Mr J. D. Higham): Copies of Government's invitation to tender for the provision of a television service and tenders received in response to this have been laid before the Assembly for the information of Members as Sessional Paper Cmd. 32 of 1955. The Government will provide an opportunity for a debate on the question of the establishment of commercial television in Singapore on the 8th of February, 1956.
