Mr Lee Kuan Yew asked the Chief Minister whether he will postpone his trip to London in order to meet Mr Chin Peng.

The Chief Minister: Mr Speaker, Sir, the question presupposes a conflict between the two events indicated therein. No such conflict exists and the question does not arise.

Mr Lee Kuan Yew: Does the Chief Minister mean that he will be meeting Mr Chin Peng?

The Chief Minister: On present indications, Mr Speaker, Sir, the answer is in the affirmative.
