The Chief Minister: Mr Speaker, Sir, may I be permitted, with the assent of the House, to move without notice the necessary exemption, under Standing Order 7 (11), to enable the business of the House to be concluded today? It is, in fact, doubtful, Sir, that we will reach the moment of interruption but I think hon. Members would not wish to continue further tomorrow if it is a matter of short duration. I therefore seek your consent, Sir, to move the necessary exemption, under Standing Order 7 (11), to enable us to complete the business of the day today.
Mr Speaker: Have I the assent of Members that the motion be moved?
Hon. Members: Aye.
Question, "That the proceedings on the business set down for this day be exempted from the provisions of Standing Order No. 7," put, and agreed to.
Resolved,
That the proceedings on the business set down for this day be exempted from the provisions of Standing Order No. 7 (Pursuant to Standing Order No. 7 (11)).
