Consideration resumed on motion.

That this Assembly, pursuant to subsection (3) of section 30 of the Women and Girls' Protection Ordinance (Chapter 126), resolves that the Women and Girls' Protection (Places of Safety - Amendment) Rules, 1956, made on the 22nd day of June, 1956, and published as Notification No. S 196 in the Gazette Supplement No. 46 of the 29th June. 1956, as contained in Sessional Paper No. S.L. 23 of 1956, be approved.- (The Assistant Minister for Labour and Welfare).

The Assistant Minister for Labour and Welfare (Mr Mak Pak Shee): Mr Speaker, Sir, the only material change in this amendment is that section 27 of the old Ordinance be substituted by section 30 of the new one which was revised on the 1st of July, 1956.

Mr Speaker: I direct hon. Members' attention then to Sessional Paper No. S.L. 23 of 1956: in the first line, for the figure "27", substitute the figure "30", so that that part then reads:

"In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 30 of the Women and Girls Protection Ordinance, the Minister for Labour and Welfare hereby makes the following Rules....". Since that amendment does not materially alter any principle embodied in the original motion, that amendment is allowed. Have I a seconder for the motion?

Question put, and agreed to.

46 of the 29th June, 1956, as contained in Sessional Paper No. S.L. 23 of 1956, be approved.
