[Mr Speaker in the Chair]

The Chief Minister: Mr Speaker, Sir, I am sure that hon. Members would like to complete the business set down for today and, as it is not improbable that the business will not be completed before the moment of interruption, may I therefore seek the general assent of this Assembly for the suspension of Standing Orders in so far as it is necessary to enable me to move a motion under Standing Order 7 (11) for the exemption of business from the provisions of that Standing Order?

Mr Speaker: Have I the assent of hon. Members?

Hon. Members: Aye.

The Chief Minister: Thank you, Sir. I move,

That the proceedings on the remaining items on the Order Paper be exempted from the provisions of Standing Order 7.

Question put, and agreed to.

Resolved,

That the proceedings on the remaining items on the Order Paper be exempted from the provisions of Standing Order 7.
