SUPPLEMENTARY PROVISION (Sessional Paper No. Cmd. 12 of 1959)

The Acting Financial Secretary (Mr Oon Khye Kiang): Mr Speaker, Sir, I have the Governor's recommendation to proceed with the motion. I beg to move,

That this Assembly resolves that the sum of $414,635 shall be supplied to the Government under the heads of expenditure and for the services specified in the Schedule contained in Sessional Paper No. Cmd. 12 of 1959.

Sir, this is a Schedule of revotes under the Development Estimates. The need for supplementary provision in this case is explained in pages 3 and 4 of the Sessional Paper. In each case, it is an adjustment of the sum provided in the 1959 Estimates in the light of expenditure in 1958. In no case has there been any change in the nature of cost of the project, nor will any supplement result in the estimated cost approved by the Assembly being exceeded.
