The Minister for National Development (Mr Ong Eng Guan): Mr Speaker, I beg to introduce a Bill intituled "An Ordinance to amend the Local Government Ordinance, 1957 (No. 24 of 1957)".

Bill read the First time.

Mr Speaker: Second Reading, what day?

Mr Ong Eng Guan: After the conclusion of the proceedings on the Control of Rent (Amendment) Bill.

Mr Speaker: So be it.

Mr Ong Eng Guan: Mr Speaker, I lay upon the Table a Certificate of Urgency signed by the Yang di-Pertuan Negara in respect of the Local Government (Amendment No. 2) Bill.

Certificate of Urgency handed in.

Mr Speaker: The Certificate is in order. Are typed copies of the Bill available for the use of Members?

Mr Ong Eng Guan: Yes.
