ALLOWANCE OF DEPUTY SPEAKER

The Deputy Prime Minister (Dr Toh Chin Chye): Mr Speaker, I beg to move,

That this Assembly, pursuant to subsection (3) of section 37 of the Singapore (Constitution) Order in Council, 1958, resolves that the allowance of the Deputy Speaker shall be $500 a month.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Culture (Mr Lee Khoon Choy): I second the motion.

Question put and agreed to.

Resolved,

That this Assembly, pursuant to subsection (3) of section 37 of the Singapore (Constitution) Order in Council, 1958, resolves that the allowance of the Deputy Speaker shall be $500 a month.
