Legislative Assembly of Singapore · 10 February 1960 · 2nd Legislative Assembly

Official Report, 10 February 1960, Vol 12, Issue 3 · Open in the reader (summaries, search, filters)

Mr Speaker: I understood the Deputy Prime Minister wished to move a motion.

The Deputy Prime Minister (Dr Toh Chin Chye): Mr Speaker, I beg to move,

That at it's rising this day, the Assembly do stand adjourned to Friday, 12th February, 1960.

Mr Speaker: I do not think strictly that that motion is necessary, because tomorrow happens to be a public holiday and, therefore, the adjournment today will automatically take the Assembly to Friday, because a public holiday, under Standing Order No. 1 (1), is excluded from the definition of "ordinary, sitting days".
