FLATS AT ST. MICHAEL'S ESTATE, KALLANG ESTATE, DUCHESS ESTATE AND PRINCESS ESTATE AND TERRACE HOUSES AT ST. MICHAEL'S ESTATE (Dates of commencement and completion)

Mrs Seow Peck Leng asked the Minister for National Development to give the dates of commencement and completion of the following:

(i) Four and seven-storeyed flats at St. Michael's Estate;

(ii) Seven-storeyed flats at Kallang Estate;

(iii) Two-storeyed terrace houses at St. Michael's Estate;

(iv) Four-storeyed flats at Duchess Estate, Queenstown; and

(v) Three-storeyed flats at Princess Estate, Queenstown.

Dr Toh Chin Chye: St. Michael's Estate commenced on 1.7.57 and was completed on 29.6.59; Kallang Estate commenced on 1.9.56 and was completed on 30.12.58; Duchess Estate, Queenstown, commenced on 11.2.57 and was completed on 15.3.59, and Princess Estate, Queenstown, commenced on 1.10.54 and was completed on 20.3.56.

Mrs Seow Peck Leng: Mr Speaker, Sir, on the basis of these dates, is it correct to assume that all these flats and terrace houses were building during the time of the previous Government?

Mr Speaker: I suppose the dates speak for themselves.

Dr Toh Chin Chye: Yes.
